ABOUT Dr. Henry
Stephen Henry is an internationally renowned trauma orthopedic surgeon who has published over 80 articles and chapters in the field of orthopedics, domestic violence and childhood obesity. Aside from publishing research, Dr. Henry also blazed the trail for medical inventions such as the antibiotic bead system which he and his partners developed for the Department of Defense. While still practicing medicine, Dr. Henry was elected and served as Lieutenant Governor of Kentucky 1995-2003. In that role he authored over 200 Opinion Editorials for newspapers and magazines discussing national and state issues including childhood obesity which was featured in News Week Magazine. Dr. Henry has been a frequent guest speaker and visiting professor. He has presented over 300 lectures in over 20 countries. In 2004, Dr. Henry and his wife purchased the home of family friend, the late Rosemary Clooney. The home, located in Augusta, Ky is now a museum exhibiting memorabilia, costumes and family archives spanning Rosemary's 50 year career. The museum is also the primary recipient of the movie costumes from her Oscar Award Winning nephew, George Clooney who is also a native of Augusta, Ky. In 2005 the museum partnered with Paramount Studios to acquire, protect, and preserve costumes from her career. As a result, Dr. Henry has acquired over 50 costumes of Rosemary Clooney and cinema co-stars Bing Crosby, Bob Hope, and Vera Ellen. Thru this effort the museum has secured various costumes, hats, gloves which includes the famous blue "Sisters" dresses and Vera Ellen's "Mandy" dance costume. The White Christmas collection was first exhibited at the Frazier History Center, the Kentucky History Center, and tentatively scheduled for exhibition in Cincinnati at the History Museum. Dr. Henry lives in Louisville, Kentucky with his wife, Heather French Henry, Miss America 2000 who was appointed by Governor Beshear as the Commissioner of the Kentucky Department of Veterans Affairs. Heather is a native of Augusta, Ky and has a Bachelor of Science and Masters in Design from the University of Cincinnati's Internationally renowned College of Design, Architecture, Art and Planning (DAAP.) They have 2 children Harper, 14, and Taylor, age 12.
